About Us

Lynne Pritchard founded Sycamore House Consulting in 2000, following more than a decade at senior level in HR management.

Initially Sycamore House primarily provided outsourced HR support for small businesses in the private sector.

In May 2003, Sycamore House Consulting was incorporated and became Sycamore House HR Solutions Limited.

Having graduated from the University of Nottingham with a joint honours degree in Philosophy & Linguistics, my first experience of HR was in the food manufacturing industry. I achieved corporate membership of what subsequently became the CIPD in 1992 and was pleased to be awarded a Fellowship of the Institute in 2002.

A broad HR generalist, I have extensive hands-on experience across the full range of operational HR activity including recruitment, training, managing redundancies, development of policies and procedures, implementation of performance management systems and handling disciplinary and grievance matters. I am also experienced at strategic level, with a good understanding of corporate governance and directors’ responsibilities. My experience has been gained across a wide range of industry sectors including manufacturing, hi-tech, biotech/pharma and financial services.

For many businesses, their most expensive resource is their people. The salary bill alone may be the single largest cost − even before adding in other linked expenditure such as the cost of employee benefits, employer’s national insurance and recruitment and training costs.
